A nice game to start off Silver III. It looked a bit dark in the beginning, enemy Trundle had way better early game than our Renekton, Nidalee had a pretty rough time against enemy Ahri and I made some pretty bad calls in bot lane. I used my combo on enemy Taric more than once, thinking that "he's closest and the easiest target right now", when of course that was the wrong move, I should've gone for enemy Varus. Overall, the other team had a better laning phase than us. We did manage to turn it around though, but I'm not sure exactly how. We just managed to get better teamfights. The other team was still a threat, and occasionally they turned a fight on us really well, but mostly we did fine. This game was great for two reasons: One; it showed me why I should always focus the enemy ADC, as we were punished for me not doing so. Two; I realised I have been getting better at something I've struggled with a really long time as support: To use my active items! As embarrissing as it, since they are so crucial for support, I often forget I have them. This match though, I remembered them in about eight or nine out of ten fights, which is a huge improvement for me. This gives me hope that my practice in this game is bearing fruit.

Promotion: Silver III

As with any good series final, it came down to the last chance. Since I won two out of three promotional matches, I'm now in Silver III. I have to say, writing a log like this actually have helped me to reflect over my playstyle more than when I don't write about my games. Well, there's still much to learn and many divions to climb. Onward to Silver II!

Another game to remind me that I need to remember bot lane more when I'm jungling. Our bot lane had a hard time since enemy jungler Lee Sin was down there a whole lot. He was also in top lane a few times, causing our Kennen to have a hard time aswell. We won though, largely thanks to our mid laner Nidalee who hit a lot of spears, and those are dangerous when Nidalee builds AP. Our Kennen got more dangerous as time went on as well, and our bot lane started doing better in the end too. If there's one primary lesson to be learned from these last two games, it's to be aware of bot lane when jungling.

This one started out well with a first blood for me on an invade. I then managed some good early ganks. After that though, they game gradually got back into the enemy team's control. Bot was warded really well and I communicated badly with my team, often ending in my getting killed when trying to gank the lane. Something I need to practice on when jungling is ganking bot lane, it's definitely the hardest lane to gank. As the laning phase ended, the other team was way stronger than us.

I'm wondering whether I actually did the right thing in choosing Jax here... See, I knew I was going up against Jayce, and my standard choice for top is usually Cho'Gath (or Malphite, but he was banned). However, I worried Cho may be too squishy and slow to lane against Jayce, so I asked my teammates. They thought I should go Jax and so I did. But now I'm wondering if it actually made any difference, because Jayce still won top lane pretty handily. I'm going to have to look into that more, I think. Anyway, besides my lane, the laning phase was more or less of a curbstomp. Once the teamfights started, things got a little bit more dangerous, but we still had a huge upper hand. I had to decide alot between staying with the team or pushing back Jayce's split pushing in this game, which was rather hard. Once or twice my team failed without me, so I probably made many wrong decisions here. Either way, more thanks to my teammates than me, that's one promotional match won, one to go!

I don't know if I learned anything or if I was even needed in this game... but you know what, I'll take it. Sometimes it's just nice to play a game as a jungler when all the players on your team win their lanes. At least I could help our mid laner and ADC to grab the blue/red buffs. Not a great game for learning, but sometimes it's just fun to win. With this though, I'm up for my first promotional matches! Let's see how it goes.

Now this was a great game for learning more about jungling. The thing here was that pretty much all our lanes were pushed, but the game was still even overall. So it was hard for me to come from the river and get a good gank. This was a little bit of a dilemma the first half of the game, and my teammates were starting to get a bit annoyed... and then I asked my duo partner over Skype what to do, and he casually said: "Well, you could try coming through the lane..." DERP! I completely forgot that's an option! Not really much else to say about the game other than that, but that's enough of a lesson here. I don't think I'll forget about this in future jungle games.

Enemy jungler Fiddlesticks was the big problem here. He was a real pain for our mid laner Lissandra and the chat was at first pretty much only "that stun so op" and such. It got even worse when he got his ultimate, he was really good at standing behind walls and popping in on a team fight. We had great communication in our team though, and we quickly figured out that if we shut down Fiddlesticks as soon as he entered, we'd pretty much win every teamfight. I tried to ward as much as possible and our Zac and Lissandra both got Oracle's Elixirs to help keep the map control in our hands. We managed to grab an uncontested baron and after that all we pretty much had to do was chip down their inhibitors. After using basically five ultimates on Fiddlesticks, of course...

This one started off even, then drifted into "We can win this but we're not gonna because our engagements are so bad", but then we actually won! The laning phase was, as I said, even. Kills were being traded pretty much everywhere. We got slightly edged out in bot lane, enemy Varus and Sona engaged pretty nicely a few times to which I and Kog'Maw didn't respond accordingly, due to lacking communication or reaction time. We didn't lose too badly though, and the lane wasn't a huge dent in the match overall. Then everyone started roaming, and things got a bit trickier. We were able to get the dragon two or three times, but the actual teamfights did not often go so well. Our focus was pretty bad and I often ran away trying to survive when really I should have just stayed, dish out as much damage as possible and then die for my team. But even though we started to slip and lose, our team was mostly good with the feedback instead of just raging in chat, and it started to feel as we all got more and more on the same page about how we wanted to handle things. We "gave" baron to the enemy team once, but then four of them lost the buff from a fight under our turret, which lifted our spirits. The game ended in a pretty awesome fashion. We all gathered outside the baron pit as the enemy team attempted to kill it. Jarvan jumped in, smote it, and stole it! I tried to jump in on someone, but my ability didn't reach. I was forced to just put my ultimate in the pit and then run all the way around. By this point, the whole thing had become a full 5v5. The announcer started calling out kills and I got really worried. It sounded like we were losing, and I started to not really know what was going on. That's a re-occurring problem that I (among many other things) should work on: I need to get better at just understanding what's going on in these big engagements. Anyway, despite what I thought we won the fight with me and two of my teammates surviving. This led to us being able to finish the game, because a while before the last fight started, I had bought Banner of Command and promoted a siege minion in bot lane. That lane was now pushed all the way to the bot inhibitor, and we were able to go that way and win the game before anyone on the other team respawned. A very fun and intense match, and refreshing to see players actually communicating and trying to make sure everyone plays better instead of raging and flaming.

A really close game with many teamfights going in both teams' favor. My laning phase against Wukong was pretty tough, but I'm happy with how I managed to pull it off. He had more damage than me and forced me back alot, but I still managed to stay above him in farm. The whole game was intense with kills being traded everywhere. Bot lane was especially exciting with much action in it. It was rather hard for me to decide who to focus in the teamfights, enemy Elise or Caitlyn. I guess the usual rule is to focus the ADC, but Elise was really dangerous too but in melee range. It worked out well though, I poked pretty good with Ruptures and managed to use my Feast on good targets. Most of the time, anyway.

The laning phase went badly for pretty much all our lanes, there's not much to comment on there. What's really interesting here is that we actually started to make it look like we were gonna win it after all. We got our focus together, managed a few good teamfights and realised that we actually could be a threat for the other team. Sadly, we couldn't carry ourselves all the way and we fell before the finish line.

It started out really well when our Ashe got first blood when the enemy team's invade failed. Then, we went back to bot lane and dominated enemy Ryze and Thresh... and suddenly we didn't. Ashe did a pretty stupid dive and we lost the edge we had gotten. Then, Ryze dominated us. He just had sick damage after a while. And the enemy team had Teemo... I do not like Teemo. Our Tryndamere got owned by him, tried switching with Zed and our Zed got owned. A tiresome game, but I guess we lost rightfully.

The danger at the start of this game was enemy jungler Evelynn. Right away, she got a double kill on our two bot laners. We managed to elude her pretty well after that, though. My lane went great, enemy Cho'Gath pushed too far and too badly, so that I was safe near my turret but still ahead in farm by just a little. Our jungler Shen was very good and very positive. We did derp a few teamfights and the enemy team got baron once, making it seem like we would lose, but we pulled ourselves together and won.

Again, it's not often you can say a loss is one person's fault, and I REALLY hate to be the guy who blames someone... but I gotta say, our Zed cost us this game by doing exactly what I did in game 34. He got caught out in a stupid, stupid way that everyone saw coming and we lost. It was a REALLY even game too, and I hate that it ended so anticlimactic. I wouldn't have minded if we lost in a teamfight, but the way this went down, it was a 4v5 when it really shouldn't have been. Otherwise, the game was good. We had  a rough start but managed to catch up really good. We traded inhibitors back and forth and I don't think I've ever gotten this many items as a supprt before. A long, intense, and fun game... but the ending makes me sad. But hopefully, he learned his lesson the way I did the time I did that. And it's pointless to focus on other people's mistakes, so I shouldn't.

Another game that shows that you shouldn't surrender just because your laning phase is going badly... but for the other team. We dominated them early on, but then we could never get a good grip on our team fights. Someone was always not there or not ready, and the other team just got a good focus going.

I was tricked into thinking I would be up against Kha'Zix, so I bought armor and pots at the start... and then Malzahar and Lee Sin dominated me in my lane. The other lanes didn't do well either, and it was a curbstomp for the other team.

It's not often you can say a loss is because of one single person in the team. In fact, it's close to never. This is one of those rare times, and the person... was me. It was even, it really was. It could go either way, althouhg we were pushed to our nexus. But we had baron buff. The entire enemy team gathers in a WARDED bush outside, and what do I do? I click on the minimap to go to the bot turret, expecting my character to go inside the base wall... and I go outside, without realising it. This loss was 100% on me, and I have no excuse for it. I'm just bad.
